Service Overview

This is an overview of the main features and concepts of OwlDB.

OwlDB is a cloud database service that automates deployment, setup, and management. It supports high availability and scalability, and provides a stable operating environment with a variety of features optimized for cloud environments.

Key features

Automated provisioning

Provides automated infrastructure creation and setup through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). \Data Easily provision databases to the users specifications with just a few clicks..

Compatibility validation and migration

Ensure system stability with schema conversion and data type mapping capabilities.

Real-time monitoring and alerting

Real-time monitoring sends alerts when anomalies are detected, allowing the users to respond quickly.

Backup/Recovery Scheduling

Minimize data loss and ensure business continuity by setting the desired backup frequency.

Database Engine / Version / Topology

Tibero is a relational database management system (RDBMS), which applies in-memory data processing and high-performance compression technology to have strong performance for large-scale data.

Single does not provide cluster tools.

Note

TAC is an active-active configuration, providing reliable service without system interruption based on shared disks.

Instance Types

OwlDB gives the users the flexibility to pull down the right combination of resources based on the usersr intended use. It offers a variety of instance types, allowing the users to scale the usersr database to the requirements of the usersr target workloads.

Note

Tibero's Single recommends an instance type of large or larger. Tibero's TAC is only available for instance types with large or more, and recommends xlarge or larger.

Storage/Disk Types

OwlDB provides a variety of storage options for storing and recovering data. The users can pull down the right storage based on the usersr needs, including usage, performance, and data resiliency. Storage is easily scalable to meet dynamic application requirements, and also provides data backup and recovery capabilities

gp3

SSD-based volumes optimized for high performance workloads, delivering high IOPS and low latency. It is highly durable and has a low cost per capacity.

Volume Size (GiB)
Volume IOPS (CNT)

150 ~ 16,000

3,000 ~ 16,000

gp2

SSD-based volumes that are ideal for storing or processing large amounts of data and have a low cost per capacity. They provide high IOPS and can be somewhat inconsistent. The IOPS value changes based on the storage size assigned and is not customizable.

Volume Size (GiB)
Volume IOPS (CNT)

150 ~ 16,000

450 ~ 16,000

io2

SSD-based volumes that deliver very high IOPS and consistent performance, are highly durable, and have a high cost per capacity. The downside is relatively high latency.

Volume Size (GiB)
Volume IOPS (CNT)

150 ~ 64,000

3,000 ~ 256,000

Note

Tibero's TAC topology is only available for io2.

About LI licenses

LI (License Included) is an option that includes a license, the users do not need to purchase or register a license separately. Also, the LI license is automatically renewed at 00:00 every day.

About BYOL licencses

When using the Bring The usersr Own License (BYOL) licensing model, the users need to upload a license file. The license file must meet the following conditions When configuring 2 or more nodes, the users need a license file with the same specification (CSP, Start date, End date, Edition, Limit CPU) as the number of nodes to be used.

Specification of CPUs to use

When creating a DB instance, only specifications within the same range as the number of CPUs listed can be pulled down.
