Modifying database specification

The users can change the specs of a running database. For multi-cluster configurations, we apply changes in bulk. Upgrading the specification incurs additional charges. The users cannot change the specification if the database operation status is not Running, or if the instance status is Recovery, Disconnect.

1. Navigate to the OwlDB console screen > Administration menu.

2. Click the DB Alias drop-down button to pull down the database whose specification the users want to change.

3. Click the Change specification button.

4. Pull down the spec the users want to change, and key in the information.

Caution

The database must be restarted for the changes to take effect. When restarting, all currently connected sessions will be terminated. It may take a few minutes before they are reactivated.

After changing the size of a volume, the users must wait at least 6 hours before adding additional changes to the same volume.
