SID
A Service ID that is a unique name specified to help a client identify a server.
SMR(Standby Managed Recovery)
A Tibero Standby Cluster process which reads online Redo logs and performs recovery for Standby DBs.
SQL(Structured Query Language)
A non-procedural language which executes queries and controls tasks in a database.
SQL-92
The SQL standard for relational databases which is called SQL2, standardized in 1992.
SQL-99
The SQL standard for relational databases which is called SQL3, standardized in 1999. This extended the SQL standard by adding object-oriented concepts to SQL-92.
SQLCA(SQL Communication Area)
A structure variable where the results of executing an arbitrary SQL statements are saved.
SSL
Tibero can contain important personal information such as resident registration numbers and bank account information. To prevent unauthorized users from obtaining this information, SSL checks if the authenticity of a server or a client is needed.
Standby DB
A Tibero Standby server copies a database to physically independent storage. The database where the data is copied to is called a Standby DB.
SYS
After Tibero is installed, the SYS user, who manages database metadata, is created. This SYS user acts as the DBA, similar to the root user in UNIX and Linux.
